Final poster analysis
This is my final poster for my A-level project, as you can
see it has changed dramatically from the previous draft. The main change that
you may see is in the title, I have changed this a lot as from feedback I found
that it was very hard to read and unclear on the page. I had grown somewhat
attached to the first draft of the title however I believe that the changes I
implemented worked in my favour. My teacher advised me to change the colour
from red to white as she believed that due to red being a very prominent
colour, having the title as well as the image this colour it was not very
noticeable and became engulfed by the background. I have changed the title so
it easier to read as before it had many lines through and pieces missing from
the letters that it made it hard to read for those who did not know what it was
called prior to seeing it. To tackle this problem I eased the destruction down
a bit by making it less broken up, to do this I focused on the edges of the
letters, this still looks destroyed however not to the extent that it is
unrecognisable. Moreover the actors name shave been moved as they previously
did not all fit on just the one line at the top, however I had previously aimed
to do this as it showed the main actor within the film. To follow the feedback
given to me, I put all the actors at the top on the same line and to show the main
actor I put it above the title, this clearly shows this point as he is
positioned closer to the title and the centre of the poster. The top of the image within the poster has also been cut
down, this was done to fit all of the actor names onto the red rather than on
the black on his head. The glow around the tag line has also been changed as I felt it was to strong, I decided to change this so that it was only really visible on the words highlighted in red, this makes these words stand out even more. I initially made these words red as they are the hard hitting words within the tag line, as when spoken out loud they act as the words that catch your attention and i wanted to emphasise this in the text as well as when it is said out loud. The billing block is also smaller so that it does not cover up any of the mallet on the right hand side. the red on his hands shows that he has done something violent and he now ha 'blood on his hands' following the pre text that he has killed someone or caused someone to die.

How i created my poster image
the original image started off with harry facing away from the camera holding a mallet, I started off by taking Harry's reflection out of the picture. from here I used a poster setting which made the colours stand out and then I edited them so harry was clearly visible within the picture (his silhouette) I then changed the colour balance and made red a very prominent colour. to help the mallet stand out I positioned harry so that it was over the white of the door. this meant that when I put it into Photoshop it was easy to make it stand out.

Final magazine draft part 2
For this magazine draft I was told to remove the previous images of the celebrities as they were pictures that I had not taken. to compensate for this I decided to add an add for my poster with free poster on, I have done this so it acts like a pull to buy the magazine. It also creates a direct link between my two ancillary products. I have taken inspiration from the total film magazine featuring Elysium, as on this one there is a banner across the page advertising free posters.

Poster inspiration
from this poster chosen due to my chosen genre I have decided to follow suit with many aspects. For instance this uses a portrait photograph showing the main character and some sort of weapon. I have incorporated this into my poster through showing him holding a mallet to give a sense of danger and excitement about the film.
I have also placed the title of the film in the middle along with the tagline. the font in this poster has also inspired me into choosing a font as the title in the I am legend poster mirrors the background colour of the poster and I have used this same technique with my poster with the white text with a red glow it also mirrors the colour scheme of the poster.
the actors name is also located at the top of the page and I have took inspiration and done this also, this makes them stand out as well as making the top of the poster a larger focus point as the actors within the film may sometimes draw people in to watch the film.

OUTBREAK news broadcast
I decided to create a news broadcast within my trailer as it makes the trailer seem like it is actually happening as this is something that would happen if a global emergency was taking place. i decided to intertwine this with someone running as it splits up the news broadcast as well as speeds it up as it is like someone running away from something and the fact that the news broadcast gets snappier and shorter makes it look like its getting closer. then at the end there's a panning shot and a scream. i took inspiration from the film Shaun of the dead as within the film there is a news broadcast warning people about the zombie outbreak, this is why i wanted to add it in.
