To conduct my film trailer research I decided to create a
questionnaire in which I would draw a conclusion for the most common film genre,
with this I would decide the best genre to base my trailer. I found from my
results that 30% of people chose other as their favourite genre and from
looking at their choice I saw that they all put thriller as their favourite
genre and that 81% of people said that the story was the main part of the
trailer. From this I have gathered my target audience and a possible genre to
use.

this is a graph showing that the most common age is in the region of16-20, this shows me that I should aim my trailer for being an 18 age rating
this is showing the preferred genre of the participants, from this I can see that the most common is horror and comedy, however comedy is extremely difficult to produce as the jokes must be good. so I will focus on horror.
this graph shows that from those that have taken part more of the people were male meaning I have to base the film on a male preferred genre.
This graph shows what type of trailer people prefer, from this I can clearly see that a full length theatrical trailer is the most favourable.
this shows me that people want the story of the film to be good, this means I will have to make the story very interesting and make it something that people have to think about.
This graph shows the preferred time for a trailer length, from this I can see that the average is between 2 minutes 30 seconds and 1 minute 30 seconds, this means I will have to settle in the middle ground of around 2 minutes.
