Production company name ideas

For my a level film trailer I am working with Jonathan Harvey and we will create a zombie/infected trailer. We had to consider things such as production name and film name.

 

We had to consider the production company name, we do not want to use a pre-existing production company. by using a pre-existing title it may sway from the genre of the film as if a horror film is made in a studio called for example daisy studios then it will not have the same effect as the film saw did with it being made by twisted pictures, this follows the sense of the film as saw is well known for the strange and twisted murder techniques. we have thought through this and have decided to create our own production company which fits in with the sub genre of zombie/infected. We have thought of many ideas and we have decided on a name 'antidote studios'. this is because with a zombie movie a main feature is the search for a cure/antidote that can end the pandemic.

 

We have thought about ways of showing that there is no cure through the use of a vile spilling and the 'antidote' going down the drain. this would give the sense of distress and danger and it may also give the sense that the film has no clear ending as there is no cure that has been made, making the film seem interesting and draw people in to find out what happens at the end.

 

We may use a big name company such as warner bros as the distributor of the film. this gives the film a professional look. However this defies the point of retaining the sense of a zombie movie, so we may just use our own ident so that it keeps the zombie theme.

Set Dressing

Set dressing is an extemely important element when filming as it sets the mise en scene is the main aspect tha people notice, for instnce if the film is set in the 1900s you would not have a games console in the scene. We have to consider this while filming as with our chosen film genre we have to pay close attention to make sure everything is right.

For instance in some of our scenes we are going to board up a window to make it look like someone has tried to block it off. Also within our flashback scene we needed to make the room look destroyed so jon bought an old book from a charity shop and we ripped it up to show how the room had been raided or destroyed.

Film trailer synopsis

For my chosen film trailer I have decided to do a horror film. However this will be focused on the sub genre of zombies. I have chosen this as I am a big fan off zombie movies such as Shaun of the dead, I am legend, 28 days/weeks later. the film has to portray the sense of lonliness and danger and these are films that i can take inspiration from. I have also looked at lower budget films such as dead men walking, this film felt very amateurish and it gave me ideas on what to do and what not to do. In my group we have decided on a plot line:

A young man called harry O'Brien is an everyday man who has his day interrupted by an unusual phone call from a public phone booth. This is a call from a secret organisation which experiments with chemical substances and genetics. A plague sweeps the earth and harry a lone survivor battles through the infected and along the way finds that the undead are not the only danger.

summary of the plot line:

After an ominous phone call a young mans life crumbles around him as he is thrown into an unknown world were earth's inhabitants have lost their touch with humanity. In his battle for survival, harry O'Brien faces the unthinkable and the uncharted. Could this have been prevented? Could all of those lives been saved.
